...Our after-school care program is dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment that supports the growth and development of children. Our mission is to create a welcoming and engaging space where families of McKee feel confident leaving their children in our care.
At our after-school care, we believe in the essential building blocks for children's development. We prioritize fostering social and emotional skills, promoting healthy habits, encouraging creativity, and providing opportunities for academic support. We strive to create a community of learners, where children feel empowered to explore their interests, develop new skills, and form meaningful relationships with their peers and caregivers.
In operation since 1978, McKee After School Care is a not-for-profit society administered by a board of directors elected largely by the parents of children attending the program. Members of the community may also volunteer to sit on the Board or attend meetings. These meetings are held six times a year and childcare is provided. Fundraising is an important part of our program and calls for everyone's cooperation. Proceeds from fundraising are largely for program activities and field trip costs. We cannot effectively implement the program we have for the children without additional funds raised.
McKee After School Program meets or exceeds all of the regulations established by the department of Alberta Children and Youth Services.
McKee After School Care's goal is to provide a safe, welcoming, and quality childcare experience for your family. With interactive, well-rounded staff, we deliver a nurturing program that fosters your child's unique social, physical, language, intellectual, creative, and emotional development.
The main philosophy of McKee After School Program is to encourage a positive self-concept by providing consistent quality child care.
